Privacy Policy

Effective September 15, 2026 · Updated to cover location in the mobile apps

This policy covers Pulse Tuscaloosa and Pulse Venue on iOS, Android and the web. Both are made by Skinner Investments LLC, Tuscaloosa, Alabama ("we"). We collect as little as the apps need to work, we do not sell your information, and we do not show ads or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Pulse Tuscaloosa

An anonymous identifier

The first time you open the app it creates an anonymous account: a random identifier with no name, email or phone number attached. It lets the app recognise the same device from one visit to the next.

Crowd reports

When you report how busy a venue is, we store the venue, the level you chose, the time and your anonymous identifier. We use this to calculate the crowd levels everyone sees, to limit how often one person can report the same venue, and to award points. Venues see crowd levels, not who reported them.

Points and standing

Points you earn are stored against your anonymous identifier.

Email address, if you add one

Adding an email is optional. If you do, we use it to send you six-digit sign-in codes so you can keep your points on a new phone. We do not send marketing email.

Feature requests

If you send us a suggestion, we store what you wrote and, only if you choose to give it, an email address so we can reply.

Location

If you allow it, Pulse uses your device's location to show where you are on the map and which venues are near you, in the iOS and Android apps and on the web. Location is only used while you are using Pulse, and you can turn it off at any time in your phone's or browser's settings. We do not store your location or connect it to your account.

While location is on, the map provider's software may receive location information as part of drawing the map and measuring how it is used; see the map providers below.

On your device only

Favourite venues and map filters are saved on your phone and are not sent to us.

Pulse Venue

Pulse Venue is for people who own or manage a venue.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers, only to run the apps:

Event listings from Ticketmaster are shown in the app. We do not send Ticketmaster any information about you.

How long we keep it

We keep account information until you ask us to delete it. Crowd reports are kept so venues' crowd history stays accurate; once your account is deleted they are no longer connected to anything that identifies you.

Deleting your data

To delete your account and the information connected to it, email sales@pulsetuscaloosa.com from the address on the account, or tell us the app you use if your account has no email. We will confirm once it is done.

Children

Pulse is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
